Short-term Rehabilitation
Created to fill the need for a link between increasingly short hospital stays and the ability of the elderly to safely return to their homes, the JRC's short-term rehabilitation program offers greater flexibility for those in their 80s and 90s who may not be able to endure the rigors of hospital-based rehabilitation centers. It is also well-suited for patients in their 50s and over who prefer to heal within a Jewish environment, taking advantage of numerous activities, holiday celebrations, regular religious services and kosher meals.
The JRC has a staff of registered professionals devoted to promoting optimal function and independence for each resident, and for those admitted to the short-term rehabilitation program. Experienced rehabilitative therapists are available to evaluate, assess and treat a wide range of medical problems and neurological impairments.
Physical, Speech, and Occupational Therapy are an integral part of each resident's care plan. Residents are assessed upon admission and regularly thereafter, and the staff is alert and responsive to any changes in a resident's capabilities.
The JRC's short-term rehab program is equipped for the elderly. Its spacious, airy rooms are stocked with strength-building equipment specially designed to allow frailer patients to begin therapy at lower, safer resistance levels and to progress at their own rate.
Short-term rehabilitation patients are welcome to stay at the JRC until they are solidly back on their feet and realistically able to go home.
